Apocalypse Kree 2017 Is On!

The polls are closed and it looks like we have six people interested in participating in this year.

I'm going to go ahead with it. I'll post the all for prompts tomorrow. I expect it will be very similar to last year's.

Would any of the people involved in creating the prompt spreadsheet last year like to take charge of that again this year? If not, I'll do it, of course, but let me know.

Get ready to destroy the world again!

Apocalypse Kree 2017?

It's that time again: I'm here to gauge interest in another round of apocalypse_kree. If you're still around and still interested in creating something for apocalypse_kree, please fill in the poll below. If we get enough people who want to write, I'll run it again, with posting to come sometime next year.

This poll is closed.

Are you interested in participating in apocalypse_kree this year?

Definitely! Can't wait!
I'm interested in leaving prompts or reading fic, but not writing
Probably not this year

Apocalypse Kree, Now on Dreamwidth!

And it's done! Apparently the first rush is over, so it's no longer necessary to wait a week for the import. I'm planning to play with the layout a bit to see if we can't get something more interesting, but otherwise, everything is there.

If you're interested in seeing it, you can find a mirror of this comm over at [community profile] apocalypse_kree.

If you've posted something to apocalypse_kree and want to be able to edit or delete your entry or comment over at DW, I believe you'll need to claim you OpenID there (assuming you haven't already). The instructions for doing so can be found here. Hopefully that will work; it's been a while since I've done this.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

The Exodus to Dreamwidth

Given the recent changes to LJ's TOS and the subsequent migration to Dreamwidth, I'm considering either backing up apocalypse_kree over there, or just moving the whole community over. Before I do, how do you all feel about that?

If you participate as either a writer or reader in apocalypse_kree and have an opinion on LJ vs. DW, please fill in the poll below.

Poll #2066385 Opinions on moving to Dreamwidth
This poll is closed.

How do you feel about the LJ vs. DW issue?

I'd rather move the whole community to DW and conduct all future challenges there
I don't mind having the community backed up on DW, but would rather the activity stay on LJ
I'd like to see the community operate on both LJ and DW
I'd rather we not have anything to do with DW
I'm happy to use either LJ or DW and don't have a preference on where the community operates

Fanfic: No Plan Survives Contact With The Enemy (SGA/SG1, Explicit)

Title: No Plan Survives Contact With The Enemy
Author: mific
Rating: Explicit
Fandom: SGA/SG1
Pairings: John Sheppard/Ronon Dex, Rodney McKay/Jennifer Keller
Wordcount: ~10,700
Warnings: Post-apocalyptic so massive population loss. Major character loss (probably death) prior to the series (check the notes below). Story contains issues around religious belief.
Prompt: "It was a long way to travel, and they weren't sure who would be there when they arrived."
Summary: It was a very different world now.
Notes: This is a non-Stargate Earth-based AU that continues my series The Rapture. This (probably final) part of the series has been a ridiculous number of years coming, so apologies for that.

Briefly, this is a post-apocalyptic AU where John and Ronon (ex-cops from what used to be the Vegas PD) are together and are parenting Torren in Teyla's Las Vegas apartment, after Teyla and much of the world’s population—anyone who believed in gods or supernatural beings—vanished in beams of white light up into alien spaceships. Rodney worked at Area 51 and knew Teyla, but not John or Ronon. After "the Rapture”, he liberated a Humvee and drove to Teyla’s place, and has now joined forces with Ronon and John. In this story they hit the road, as it's too hard to survive in Vegas any more with easily-scavenged supplies running low. Rodney's heard about this place in Colorado, though . . .

Fanfic, Stargate SG-1, Alone, PG-13/R

Title: Alone
Rating: PG-13/R
Pairing(s): None
Character(s): Sam, Jolinar, Teal'c
Warnings: Lots and lots of major and minor character deaths. Violence. Some amount of gore. Description of less-than pleasant human-to-alien transformations.
Prompt: Sam. She wakes up in sickbay after some injury that left her unconscious for a couple days. She finds the SGC is completely empty, with no signs of fighting.
Summary: Sam wakes up in the infirmary with no memory of what has happened. She finds the corridors and rooms of the base empty, and she fears no one else is left alive at the SGC. She will soon learn something that makes her wish that had been the case.

Last Call for Stories!

Technically, this year's apocalypse_kree challenge is now over. However, I won't have time to post the master list until this weekend, so consider the next couple of days an unofficial extension. Any story posted before I post the master list will be included. If you're still working, feel free to keep at it!

Posting info can be found here.
